What to expect from the largest D23 Expo panels
While we won’t be able to watch them live, we will still receive a ton of information – via social media and other channels – about the biggest shafts at D23 Expo 2022.
Let’s start with the Hall H Marvel Studios panel. While it won’t be broadcast live, Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans can expect loads of content and announcements from this 90-minute presentation.
First, we’ll be sure to hear more details about the last few MCU projects in Phase 4. This should include a new trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, as well as official Disney Plus launch dates for the Werewolf by Night TV shows and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special . The latter duo still haven’t received release dates, so expect Marvel to confirm when they reach their streaming service.
Meanwhile, we can expect a little big news regarding some of the Marvel Phase 5 and Phase 6 productions. MCU insiders suggest that we will receive the trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Secret Invasion, which will be the first MCU projects to be released in 2023. It’s possible that Marvel will reveal Secret Invasion’s official release dates, what if …? season 2, Echo and Loki season 2 also during his panel.
We may also receive official news regarding the cast of Blade, Captain America: New World Order and The Thunderbolts – the latter of the trio is particularly intriguing given the rumors about who will be part of this antihero roster in recent days.
Speaking of cast announcements, this weekend’s biggest reveal could be reserved for the reboot of Marvel’s Fantastic Four, which will be the first superhero movie to launch Phase 6 studio plans. There was a lot of speculation about who would be cast as the cult quartet last year week, so we’d be amazed if Marvel didn’t confirm which actors will play Mr. Fantastic, Sue Storm, The Human Torch and Thing at D23 Expo 2022.
Finally, Marvel could unveil some other Phase 6 projects. So far, the studio has only announced three movies, so we can find out about a few other productions that will be part of its Phase 6 agenda. Don’t quote us about that though – Marvel has tons of other movies. and TV shows to talk about at D23 Expo, so it wouldn’t be a big surprise if no new projects were revealed in Phase 6.
Elsewhere, we can expect more details on Strange World, the next animated film from Disney Animation Studios. On Pixar, we’re sure to get to know the official storyline and cast details, as well as the trailer for Elemental, Pixar’s 27th movie.
As for Star Wars, it is likely that Lucasfilm will provide us with information about an upcoming release. Star Wars Celebration 2022 didn’t take place until the end of May, so we’re unlikely to see too many announcements. However, we should get more information on upcoming Star Wars movies and TV shows, such as Andor, which will premiere on Disney Plus on September 21. We can also learn more about the movie Taika Waititi untitled “Star Wars”, season 2 The Bad Batch, Skeleton Crew and Akolita.
However, if Lucasfilm really wants to make a splash, they would be reluctant to wave their tongues at us if they showed us material from season three of The Mandalorian and Ahsoka’s solo live-action series. If that fails, the official release dates will not be unacceptable for the couple.
Away from movie and TV content, the Disney and Marvel game showcase should provide players with plenty of news to get excited about. From Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Midnight Suns to Marvel’s Wolverine and Lucasfilm / Machine Games’ Indiana Jones, there is a lot to get excited about when it comes to Disney-owned properties.
